REGENERATING WITHOUT DEMOLISHING: URBAN UP WINS THE PRESTIGIOUS "MILANO C’È" AWARD FOR THE TUCIDIDE 14 PROJECT

During the 34th Scenari Immobiliari Forum, held in Rapallo on 18 and 19 September, Urban Up | Unipol was presented with the "MILANO C’È" award for its Tucidide 14 project. In highlighting the reasons behind the accolade, Mario Breglia, President of Scenari Immobiliari, stated: “This award is presented to Urban Up | Unipol in recognition of the extraordinary value generated by the Tucidide 14 project in Milan—a stellar example of redevelopment driven by the principle of 'regenerating without demolishing.' By converting a former business park without any land consumption, the initiative drastically reduces environmental impact while breathing new life into an area adjacent to the historic former Richard Ginori site. The project transforms a single-use complex into a multifaceted, mixed-use hub seamlessly integrated into the Ortica district, blending flexible offices, co-living solutions, and co-working spaces. Enhanced by its proximity to Forlanini Park and the metro system, the project stands as a manifesto for sustainable urban transition, honoring Urban Up for weaving the historical memory of the Milanese territory together with an industrial vision capable of elevating contemporary living standards.”

Without adding any new buildings and working strictly within the existing structures' footprints, we converted five of the seven existing towers from office use to residential and hospitality spaces. This enables young professionals and families to live and work in premium-quality environments at affordable prices: a major regeneration effort that restores centrality and social vitality to an area that had hollowed out over the years, redefining its identity from a city-fringe district into a fresh urban ecosystem. This milestone is already tangible, offering a capacity of approximately 1,100 beds alongside office spaces for an additional 700 people in the towers that retained their original purpose. It proves that Milan continues to innovate, and that the real estate industry can serve as the engine of an inclusive and responsible urban transition.”
