Piazza Duomo Christmas Tree

Adorned with blue decorations and illuminated by 35,000 LED spots, the Piazza Duomo Christmas Tree was “lit up” by the Mayor of Milan Beppe Sala at 6.15 pm on 5 December. The majestic 25-meter tall spruce arrived directly from Trentino to Piazza Duomo, and “sparkled” every day for 24 hours a day until Epiphany. At the end of the holidays, the proceeds from the sale of tree wood as raw material (about 8 tons) will be contributing to a donation to the non-profit association Associazione Bianca Garavaglia Onlus, in support of research projects on pediatric cancers.
