During Milan Art Week 2018 Velasca Tower welcomes two important international artists: Kaari Upson and Will Benedict

Milan, April 11, 2018 EVENT

The partnership between the Triennale di Milano Foundation and Urban Up continues | Unipol with the presentation, Italian premiere, of the new film by the Californian artist Kaari Upson In Search of the Perfect Double (2017).
The project presented by the Triennale in the Auditorium space of Velasca Tower in partnership with the Massimo De Carlo Gallery and under the artistic direction of Edoardo Bonaspetti continues the artist's study of the dialectic between consumerism and standardization and analyzes the relationship between the subject and the domestic environment through the impossible search for a "perfect double" in buildings designed to be identical, the tract houses of Las Vegas.

The Spazio Museo in Velasca Tower, on the other hand, will be the stage chosen by the American artist Will Benedict to stage the performance "Men Were a Mistake", finissage of the exhibition The Restourant staged at Converso – Chiesa di San Paolo Converso – under the artistic direction of Alexander May.
Will Benedict's art is mainly based on painting and collages but these days he also works with media like video and performance, often blending different areas of the arts by involving musicians, actors, and videomakers and exploiting the synergy of languages. In fact, "Men Were a Mistake" features the performer Philup and is accompanied by the live music of the duo Wolf Eyes, involving the spectators in a sort of participative theater during which the performers dance among the audience.

Two exceptional artists who have chosen Velasca Tower to present their work in Italy, confirming once again the iconic value of this timeless building.
