First place RADICE (Scuola Politecnica di Design), second place QUADRA, (IED – Istituto Europeo di Design), third place FUTURA (Politecnico di Milano). An Honourable Mention for STEELIGHT (NABA).

This is the verdict of the jury of the second edition of the Velasca Progetto Design – Idee sotto la Torre, competition made up of Gilda Bojardi, Antonio Citterio, Fulvio Irace, Massimiliano Morrone, Marinella Patetta, Antonella Ranaldi and Attilio Stocchi. The contest organised by Urban Up | Unipol was aimed at enhancing and promoting the creativity of young designers, in line with what Torre Velasca represents which has been a symbol of innovation for more than 50 years. Young people from the best design schools tackled the theme of LIGHT by designing a lamp for the public spaces in the famous tower to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its inauguration, by combining originality and respect for the pre-existing structure as well as the architectural constraints that protect the building.

The awards ceremony took place on Thursday May 9 on the ground floor of Torre Velasca in the presence of the senior management of Unipol Group, the jury, directors and representatives of the design schools involved as well as numerous students.
