THE TEATRO ALLA SCALA IS COMING TO DRIVE-IN MILANO WITH FRANCO ZEFFIRELLI’S AIDA


Thanks to the collaboration with the Teatro alla Scala, AIDA by Giuseppe Verdi will be shown on the maxi-led wall in via Senigallia

Not only a selection of art house films and award-winning pictures playing to a packed house every evening: Sunday the 19th of July opera can also be seen at DRIVE-IN Milano. Thanks to the collaboration with the Teatro alla Scala and the City Council of Milan, the drive-in is showing opera for the first time, bringing the magic and atmosphere of a theatre to the outdoors.
AIDA by Giuseppe Verdi, the masterpiece directed by Franco Zeffirelli from the opening night of the 2006/2007 season at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan will be shown on the 200 sq. m maxi-led wall.
Remembered by some critics as the ”Aida of all Aidas”, the production was a great success with the public who were impressed by the sumptuous staging and beautiful sets and the music conducted by Riccardo Chailly.

The film will be introduced with a listening guide by Prof. Franco Pulcini, Editorial Director of the Teatro alla Scala, which will guide the public on a discovery of the origin, the story and the characters of one of the most famous operas in the world.
