Christmas Calendar

From 1 to 24 December, the Palazzo dei Portici Meridionali in Piazza Duomo in Milan became a huge screen of 1200 m2 (60 meters long by 20 meters high), hosting a spectacular contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Advent Calendar

Milan, December 1, 2018 EVENT

The video projection, of about 6 minutes, was projected 3 times a day, every day from 6.30pm. A true contemporary musical Advent Calendar that told the story of a reindeer, the symbol of Christmas tradition, who was born in Milan and during its growth walked through the city passing by some of its most iconic places: Duomo, Castello Sforzesco, Arco della Pace, Darsena, Torre Velasca and Torre GalFa, the latter part of the Unipol Group’s real estate assets.
The reindeer’s growth metaphorically represented the growth of Milan, to which Urban Up Unipol today is contributing significantly through the renovation of some of the city’s most representative buildings and the construction of a new tower at Porta Nuova, which will enrich the Milan skyline.
The song “Baby, Please Come Home” rearranged by the orchestra Musici Estensi was the soundtrack of the event. On each of the 24 days before Christmas, the video focused on a different musician: 10 violins, 3 violas, 4 cellos, 1 double bass, 1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 horn, 1 sax, 1 trumpet, and 1 percussion took the stage during the Advent days. City, music, lights, and innovation. This was the Christmas Calendar of Urban UP.
